What is Sassoitalia architectural concrete?

 

Sassoitalia architectural concrete is an external paving solution comprising a combination of cement and aggregates of different size and depth of exposure.

It is a practical, versatile and durable solution for a variety of situations: driveways, pedestrian areas, squares, retail developments, the approaches to hotels, residences and much more.

Architectural concrete only requires very rare maintenance treatments and, unlike unit paving, gravel or slabs, it allows the creation of a uniform seamless surface.

Ideal Work Sassoitalia® provides a beautiful surface without compromising on safety, versatility and durability. This aggregate paving solution allows you to renovate every kind of environment tastefully and accurately. In fact, with a thickness from just 3 millimetres, Sassoitalia® makes it possible for you to renovate any exterior paving without removing the existing surface. This means a faster turn around and lower costs.

 

Sassoitalia® is practical, solid and durable over time. Although it is often applied horizontally, it is also well suited for vertical surfaces such as walls, columns, decorative wells etc.

One of its main advantages is its seamlessness, which allows a uniform surface with minimal maintenance.

Before the application of Sassoitalia®, the substrate is thoroughly evened out and levelled to avoid deformities and irregularities in the future. The absence of joints eliminates the problem of keeping the grout lines clean and vegetation growth.

It is a weather-resistant solution able to maintain its beauty unchanged over time with just basic maintenance.

 

Ideal Work architectural concrete passed all international safety tests for surfaces. Through certifications Din 51130 and Din 51097, which set the standards for resistance to foot traffic with and without shoes, aggregate paving solutions are officially declared slip-resistant, anti-shock and able to withstand heavy loads.

As a consequence, Sassoitalia® is safe, reliable and durable. It allows for great custom possibilities through a wide range of colours, textures, finishes and decorative elements. Personal preference determines the end result as it is possible to choose from different kinds of aggregates: round, washed, crushed and local. Based on the aggregate’s size and depth of exposure, the surface will vary from almost smooth to a rough texture, conveying a rustic or more elegant, chic atmosphere.

 

Over ten possible colour combinations are available: base cement comes in white or grey and it is then mixed with one of the five available integral colours to create a unique surface.

Finally, architectural concrete can be decorated with geometric shapes, textures and designs inserted in the surface. The entire project is created ad hoc, with particular attention to every aspect of the implementation, including the surface’s on-going maintenance.
