Continuity between spaces, from minimalism to elegance
The design project for the lounge bar involved dividing the room into two sections, a dining area and a bar area, to make it a perfect location for both day and night. The concept for the dining area involved minimalist lines with no furnishing accessories to create an elegant, uninterrupted space. The bar area required walls equipped with colour-changing lights to create an environment with soft lighting well-suited to a fashionable nightspot.
The client specified the need to cover the interiors with a strong, durable and easy to maintain cement material that could be applied in a thin layer. The material needed to be aesthetically pleasing and capable of elegantly and simply redesigning shapes, volumes, lines and spaces.
The natural and textured effect provided by grey Microtopping has transformed House Bar & Restaurant into an original, elegant and sophisticated environment where the boundaries between walls and floors vanish in favour of continuity between the spaces and a dialogue between the different areas. The versatility of coating reflects the venue’s own flexibility, with a fusion of comfort and simplicity.
The floor and walls of the House Bar & Restaurant have all been coated with the Microtopping system in a specific shade of grey. The work was completed in just four days, significantly reducing the overall time needed to renovate the premises.
To protect and maintain the surfaces over time, Ideal Hard and Ideal Wax treatments were used.
The former increases the resistance of concrete surfaces, while the latter is a protective dust-proof treatment that forms a thin but durable protective film allowing the underlying floor to remain attractive and intact for many years. This helps floors to survive and keep their shine for longer, with lower maintenance costs and guaranteed dust-proofing for 10 years.
